Hello!  I am Rebecca Lindquist, and I am the simple quiet….  At least, I’d like to be simple and quiet, but it takes some work to live quietly in this beautiful, overwhelming world.  As for simple, well, I think I’m simple but my husband and sister would beg to differ.  Oh well….  I’m trying.  I started this blog as a way to track my progress, both in my quest for quiet simplicity, and in my work as a fiber artist.

I find great comfort and peace in the two mediums I work in:  rug hooking and punch needle embroidery.  What is more beautiful, more soothing, warmer or more fulfilling than wool? (did someone say, “Chocolate”?)  The way it fluffs up when washed and dried, the way it welcomes dyes, the way it keeps its soft edge when torn ~ O, the loveliness of wool!  What is a better compliment to rug hooking than punch needling?  The two seem woven together, and, indeed, in my life they are.

  1. Becky,

Your blog is “simply” delightful. I’m so glad you’ve started one, the first step is the biggest. This is a fantastic way for you to share your creative energies with others.

Love the cat thumbs! I don’t remember noticing them when they were little…maybe because they didn’t hold still long enough to see them.

I look forward to reading your blog posts.

  2. Hi Rebecca, my One Nation arrived yesterday and it is fabulous. It was wrapped so beautifully and I so much appreciate having a piece of your incredible work. Thank you again. Judy

  3. Hi Rebecca, I had already subscribed to your blog before I realized that you were the Rebecca Lindquist who designed the fabulous black cat. Do you sell that pattern, because I definitely need to hook him for my grandbabies? Please let me know. I don’t know if my email shows up on these things, but it is betlann@yahoo.com. You are truly an inspiration! Betsy
