Hex and Frex and a sheep…

Here is Hex and Frex all finished and ready to go.  I used the Valdani pearl cotton tweed, which I showed in my last post, for the cats bodies.  I love the way Valdani achieves such striking, yet subtle, visual texture.

Here is the same piece ~ unfinished ~ after soaking in a coffee bath, resting and drying in the beautifully warm West Michigan sunshine.

I’ve started making some smaller, more cost-friendly pieces to sell on etsy and Primitive Handmades Mercantile.  Sheep, cats, houses… there are so many simple, primitive shapes to explore!

What are you creating today?

wishing you a quiet adventure!

A catless writer is almost inconceivable.  It’s a perverse taste, really, since it would be easier to write with a herd of buffalo in the room than even one cat; they make nests in the notes and bite the end of the pen and walk on the typewriter keys.  ~Barbara Holland

  1. I had already been on Etsy to see the sheep and houses you listed – cute, cute, cute! Hex and Frex turned out beautifully.

NW OH weather has been wonderful too – lots of laundry hanging on the line at my house. Enjoy your weekend. ~Ann

P.S. I enjoyed your glasses post – I’ve always thought of buying on line – I’m now thinking maybe not!!! I do like the style of glasses you chose, but I’m with you on the pink flowers!

  2. Rebecca, I love your new piece. That tweed gave such a great texture! Love your color choices :). Can’t wait to see what you have for the update next week. I just started hooking something for it yesterday. Will work diligently on it this weekend to get them finished!

  3. Rebecca,

Hex and Frex turned out wonderful, your color choices are the best. I’m definitely going to order some of the tweed perle, love it. By the way, you are a fast puncher, I think I get too easily distracted. Going to check out your little animals on Etsy. ‘

    Have a great day!
